GENESIS
Welcome and thank you for your interest and participation in our initiative to envision the future together. The origins of the Vision Committee can be found in the minutes of our May, 2014
Board of Trustees meeting, which documented a debate about purchasing property located next to the GRJC. This was actually the second time in recent memory that the Board was in a position
to consider expanding our footprint via acquisition of an adjacent lot. The discussion continued for quite a while
until it became clear that we didn’t have a plan for the property…even if we could afford to buy it. So Michelle Silverman, then President, took charge and
said, “OK, we need to have a defined view of where we’re headed; we need a
road map and a vision of where we’re going to be. Who wants to be on that committee?” My hand shot up, along with Shira
Hochman, Mike Krebs and Rabbi Tow. Vivian Pittman joined us after our first couple of meetings, and the GRJC Vision Committee was formed. And it was good.
